I believe in change, the only constant in this Universe.
My work defines my ideology. Everything goes under a transformation at the micro and the macro levels of existence.
Throughout history, mankind has survived by altering and changing their ways to suit the times. Be it fighting wars, for territory, women and natural resources or creating new technology to make life easier and eradicating disease. I see a new era dawning upon us. It is an era of moving towards the extinction of the human species, as we have known it. We have, over the last ten decades, plundered and exploited our planet’s natural resources in the name of modernization. I see my work as an outcry of an increasing invasion of human greed for power and control. The rape of innocent women and children is an example of this greed and the plundering of natural resources, a rape of the planet. I see her as a mother, a nurturer, a life giver. As women are for their families and our planet is for her children.
As an artist, I also have faith in humanity. I believe we have the power to bring about a change within ourselves and others within our reach. How we do it is a personal journey for each one of us to embark upon. We as humans have the capacity for a higher understanding and awareness. If we see the mother nature as a provider, a giver of life and all it’s wonders, we also have the capacity to preserve and protect her. If we allow her to grow and flourish, in turn she gives us so much pleasure. Same for a woman, if you treat her well she will love you, give you pleasure. If you abuse her, you will destroy her spirit to love and nurture. And she will become a vicious enemy incapable of caring.
I would like to highlight the mystery that mother nature has to offer. If we are brave enough to venture into her wild side and give her a sense of well-being, she will continue to take care of her children. It is a humbling experience and does wonders to our ego.
The imagery in my work depicts an eroticism, a sense of pleasure and a playful wilderness. Sometimes lashing out in anger but sometimes smiling mischievously.
